Playing With Your Emotions Tag (Collaboration)

I have a few quick updates to do before I continue with this post. The first is that I was featured over at Accio Wonderland today, in an interview with Marian which you check out here . Remember to also follow her blog while you are there! Also, Sunny(Who I am collaborating with) posted this today and you can follow and see the post here . One more quick note, if you have my blog button on your blog, could you change it to the new and updated one on my sidebar. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I only just realised there was no apostrophe in in the button: A Day Dreamer's World had become A Day Dreamers World. I wouldn't like to think about what my English teacher would have to say!

Anyway, this is a Tag called Playing with Your Emotions and the idea for mine and Sunny's collaboration came from this post - when Ruby and Lucy paired-up.

Tell us a bit about yourself:

"Hi I'm Sunny (aka Pink Lady 631) and I'm the Australian book loving teen behind A Sunny Spot Blog. I'm a nerdfighter somewhat obsessed with The Hunger Games and One Direction. Feel free to stop by and leave me a link. Enjoy".

1) Which book made you happy?

Sunny: Geek Girl by Holly Smale was a book that made me really happy. Because for once it was cool to be a geek and I certainly learned a lot whilst reading it. Harriet was a awesome character and it was just a awesome book in general.

Sophie: There are quite a few books that have made me happy over the past year but I think I will have to go with Sunny and say Geek Girl. It was great to see the reaction it had, and how it showed there was another side to being a Geek. I just loved it!

2) Which book made you feel sad?

Sunny: The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, for sure. The ending killed me, I cried and if only the book wasn't so tragically beautiful I would have thrown it across the room.

Sophie: The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness! It's fantastic, and everyone must read it but it was also heart-breaking. I have just finished it and, wow. It was just so powerful!

3) What book made you feel angry?

Sunny:  I don't really know because if a book makes me angry I tend to put it down. I would say TFIOS because I cant believe John Green would tear out my heart like that!! But because I've already said that I'm going to go with Now is Good by Jenny Downham. I heard great things about it only to find that the characters made me angry.

Sophie: Shadow by Michael Morpurgo - I couldn't believe how other people treat eachother because of race and ethnicity.

4) What book makes you feel nostalgic?

Sunny: It's only nostalgic looking back on it now but Angel Cake by Cathy Cassidy. It was my first Cathy Cassidy book and it got me into the whole Cathy and Jacqueline Wilson stage which were kind of my early days of serious reading. They are still 2 of my favourite authors but that phase really made me want to read books.

Sophie: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. It was so emotional, and it made me want to spend more time with my family and really think about life.

5) Which book scared you?

Sunny: Ooh I don't know, I don't like scary things (I'm a wuss). If I had pick one I'd say Gone by Michael Grant because he built this scary and dark mutated adult-less world that is so real. But it's a great dystopian none the less.

Sophie: The Hunger Games! It's not everyday you pick up a book that clearly could be the future. It reflected society so well and I found it frightening, how this could actually be our future. Maybe not the fight-to-the-death but the ways of Poverty, War and Death. On a positive note, it scared me by how good it was!

6 )Which book surprised you?

Sunny: What's up with Jody Barton by Hayley Long because there was one big curve ball that had me gobsmacked. This twist was massive and had me freaking out

Sophie: I have to choose two for this one! Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl along with Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I never realised that when I picked them up they would become my favourite books. With Beautiful Creatures I wasn't expecting the male protagonist and I fell in love with that. And then Throne of Glass has such a fully-realised world, the author just understands it so well.

7)What book made you feel disappointed?

Sunny: Hmm... Possibly New Moon by Stephanie Meyer because as much as I am obsessed with Twilight it was really boring and I was just dragging through it.

Sophie: I hate being disappointed by a book - and then having to write a bad review. I think To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee was disappointing because I was expecting this stand-out classic but sadly, for most of it, I was dragging myself through. Although, when the trail started and throughout those chapters, it was really good.

Thank you to Ruby, Lucy and of course Sunny! Who knows, there may be more collaborations with Sunny very shortly!

  1. I have just read this on Sunny's blog, and I love it! This tag looks like so much fun. Great answers, both of you :)

I love The Fault in Our Stars, The Hunger Games, Geek Girl and Shadow. The emotions from those books are incredible. The Knife of Never Letting Go sounds fantastic - but the ending sounds very tear-worthy..
    Thanks for sharing!
