Photography: Where I Read

Some booklovers can reach into their bag, pull out their current-read, and read whenever they have the chance; others are more selective, waiting until they have found their favourite reading-spot before working through a few chapters. That place to read could be curled up with a blanket or sitting in the corner of a chair with a hot drink.  I need complete silence; and there are very few places that I can find this, the only other option reading at 2am on weekends. During daylight hours, I like to read outdoors, carefully settling down on a bench I'm surprised is still standing. With rusted arm rests and broken legs, chipped paint and a panel missing from the back, somehow it has become my favourite reading-spot. It's uncomfortable, but I like it. And, of course, the gnome is perfect company!

Now, it's almost buried beneath tangled branches and over-growing plants.

It was re-coated in black paint last year...

An apple tree hands over the bench; the fruit threatening to fall on me
when the wind blows.

If it means I will final finish A Song of Ice and Fire(by George R.R. Martin),
I would probably read anywhere, but - out of the shade - I can always feel
the sun warming my back.

In the past five years, I've never seen these lights working, despite the fact they
line the garden. They were protected by wooden-fencing; but, I tripped, and
 it split in two.

Often, it's the library books that I read outside, in fear of dropping my own copies, which
could easily land in the mud if dropped. Thankfully, they have plastic-covers that can soon
be wiped-clean.
I also can't help but adore reading on the couch, accompanied by a cup of tea and a reading snack(preferably a Maryland double-chocolate cookie).

So, where is your favourite reading spot?

    1. Thank you! I don't know how anyone can read in public or when they're commuting. I need peace and quiet too!

Of course I'll head over to your blog! Thanks for visiting mine!

  2. I don't really like reading outside. I find that I can't really get comfortable. I mostly read in bed. Or on the sofa. Kind of boring but there you go. I can lounge :)

    1. No reading-spot is boring! I LOVE reading on the sofa! It's the comfiest place!

      Who doesn't love lounging?

  3. I mainly read under my covers before I go to sleep, but occasionally I sit on the swing outside. It's not as naturist as your spot though. By the way, is Game of Thrones good? I already know I liked The One ;) (Maxon)

    1. One place I never read is under the covers. I have to be up and sitting in an arm chair, or outside! I love how you described my reading spot - it's really made me laugh!

I really enjoyed 'A Game of Thrones'! The characters are fantastic and the world is so vivid. Wouldn't recommend if you struggle with violence or bad language. I definitely understand why it's an adult read!

YAY! I'm so excited to read 'The One'! Glad you're on Team Maxon too!

  4. Such a pretty place! I loved the gnome :D I love being outdoors, but since I live in an apartment I don't have a special spot other than my bed... haha. Great post!
